People

We pride ourselves on being a friendly, approachable team, so perhaps we should introduce ourselves properly.

Graeme Mathieson, Managing Director

Graeme is the cornerstone of Rubaidh Ltd. He has over 10 years of professional experience in IT companies, three years of which have been at Director level. He has already been involved in the successful launch of three technology businesses in Scotland. Graeme has an Honours degree in Software Engineering from Edinburgh University and is a Member of the British Computer Society & the Association of Computer Machinery. He is also actively involved in several grassroots technology communities both in Scotland and internationally, alongside organising the annual national conference for his speciality, Ruby on Rails.

Annabel Mathieson, Creative Director

Before joining Rubaidh, Annabel was a Production Editor for the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. She produces their journal and until very recently was responsible for their Behind the Medical Headlines website. She is an expert proof-reader with a flair for design. Her role is very much with the creative side of the company. Annabel has a degree in Molecular Biology from Edinburgh University, and her research in genetics makes her very good at attention to detail. She was born in Harris, and is still in love with all things Hebridean (hence ‘Rubaidh’!).

John Blatchford, Operations Director

John is the Operational Director of Rubaidh Ltd. He is not involved with the technical side of the work, but focuses on business development. John’s background was in Science Education and, since retirement, has taken up freelance writing (as a feature writer for Suite 101). He is a Biologist by training (PhD, and Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Biology) who subsequently became an admirer and enthusiast of "Web 2.0" innovations.

Gail Crosbie, Marketing Manager

After too many years in the big smoke working for corporate giants such as BUPA, Morgan Stanley and Tesco, Gail headed home with her family and met Annabel and Graeme whilst working in Communications with The Royal College of Physicians. She enjoyed developing the initial policies and strategies for the Smoking Ban, moved on to work with all the Royal Colleges on alcohol abuse and now works with the University of Edinburgh and the EC in Public Health Sciences in addition to working with us here at Rubaidh.
