In conjunction with Skills Matter Rubaidh are offering a four-day training course in Ruby on Rails. The course is developed by Chad Fowler, a software developer, author and long-time leading contributor in the Ruby community. He is one of the developers and maintainers of RubyGems, the standard Ruby packaging mechanism, author of Rails Recipes and contributing author to Programming Ruby (AKA 'The Pickaxe').
The course will provide an overview of the Ruby programming language itself, with content specifically geared towards understanding how Rails is developed and what makes it work. It then follows on to installing Rails and creating basic applications. Through the four day course, you will build a detailed knowledge of Rails 1.1 key features, including test driven development, its use of the Model-View-Controller architecture, how to create a good looking visual design and integrating with AJAX.
Graeme delivers several public courses every year (mostly in Edinburgh) and is available for personal, customised on-site training internationally. For more details, and to book, see the Skills Matter course page or contact us.
The next public course is on October 24th in Edinburgh. Space is limited, so book now!
